Gisteren was onze laatste dag in Boedapest – de hoofdstad van Hongarije. 4 dagen thermen, sightseeing en lekker eten. Een uitgebreid reisverslag (à la Berlijn; in 4 stukken) volgt in de komende weken. Nu weer even op adem komen!
Yesterday was our last day in Budapest – the capital of Hungary. 4 days of spa, sightseeing and delicious food. A comprehensive travelogue will follow in the coming weeks (à la Berlin; into 4 pieces). Now it’s time to sleep and do nothing!
Part 1 – Transport: First things first: how do you get to Budapest and how do you navigate through the city? Budapest consists of two parts: Buda and Pest. Pest is flat and business-like, Buda is hilly and reminds me of fairy tales.
Part 2 – Hotel: The Budapest hotel was a dream: the Nemzeti. The hotel is housed in a historic building, completely renovated in 2012. A perfect mix & match between “Rococo Baroque” and contemporary modern.
Part 3 – Food: If you are a real foodie, you make a Budapest note on your schedule nów. Delicious and cheap, what more could you want?
Part 4 – To do: What is worth a visit or which places or a big no-go? Our to-do tips from Budapest include a zoo, spa and a well hidden museum.
